Ok, so i've been working on my game for so long that i seem to be forgetting that it's supposed to be like Square's Saga series but by adding some stuff to it I figure that it could make a much better game with a nameless character that will roam the gameworld with no apparent destiny and could end up in one of the many possible endings. And when the game is complete, the game becomes a sandbox world of various minigames. But I love the characters too, having intertwined destinies and different play styles so i thought just like Saga you could replay the game and be able to unlock the nameless character after beating all the other's paths. But that sounds tedious. When i choose a game, I like the main hero to be renamed or better if he can be customized. I didn't like playing games like Breathe of Fire or the other ones where you couldn't imagine yourself being the main character. It would be like playing someone else's life. Where as in games like Final Fantasy it would be like you are assuming the form of a handsome soldier with a great sqord and meet a bunch of colourful characters and a girl with great breasts would be your girlfriend. The point is i think it's more interesting if it was actually yourself in the game that's why I have enjoyed the Black Isle games more than anything else. Nowadays, when I'm thinking of playing an RPG i would say to myself, why crave modding these games when you have OHR. So i open OHR and expand the world that i am trying to create. Maybe it wouldn't mean much to others but i take great pleasure in making it and enhancing it and cultivating it like it was an actual world where real enities live in it and their lives mattered. And their lives was up to you, the player. What about you? Do you need to see yourself in the characters that you play in your game? I'm asking this because maybe if others has a better way of looking at it, maybe I'd just follow that and continue with being productive. _________________ So many ideas, so little focus. Both approaches work well (when not done wrong at least). Just go with what you prefer since it'll work either way. _________________
