I dunno really why but think it'd be cool if we got points that in turn gave us custom rankings. We could win these by contest backed by admin and other stuff. I dunno just throwing the idea out there. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!

actually, something like this has all ready been implemented. in your profile, there's a bar labeled CL. i don't know if there will be names for certain levels but..
Cube wrote: | CL stands for Castle Level, which is part of a little thing I designed called CPS. It's a little minigame thing that'll be fully added to the site... Eventually. It's taking forever to add, I know, but whatever.
Basicly, when the red bar fills up you go up a level. It is increased by posting/writing reviews for games currently. When we get more features added to the site, there'll be other ways to make it go up too. Of course, writing a single review is worth more than just randomly posting, so the red bar fills up much faster when submitting reviews.
Eventually you'll be able to spend your gained levels on nifty little virtual stuff like swords/armor/spells (So your levels will decrease) to increase stats and whatnot, which will be used in another minigame that'll come further down the road. It's partly just for fun, but it has other uses too which will be explained when it's officially implemented.
I should also point out that it's likely everyone's level will be reset to 0 when it's actually added, so everyone starts off at even ground. We've just been monitoring how CP is gained through posts/reviews to balance it out, basicly.
So anyway, it's nothing bad if anyone was worried about that, heheh. |

I am looking forward to this. I still don't see it.
Also, the concept of sacrificing levels for equipment intrigues me. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Just a little while ago my girlfriend (Taiyou Yume) was asking about the CL: 7 in my profile. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

Well, Cube recently came by to update the Soap Box, so that eliminates my assumption that he died.. |

The points will eventually be utilized. It's just that IM and me don't have the time we need to get anything done at the moment. He's busy with school and work, and I'm busy with, well... Work.
You won't nessisarily be able to purchase custom titles, but rather "trophies". These things can range from Potions to Gold Cups to pieces of armor. They do things like enhance your stats (Yeah, you all have RPG like stats too, you just can't see 'em). What're the stats for? Some vaporware online game client we want to make eventually someday. Which is technically kinda half built already anyways... It's just moving along slowly because we're all busy people
Anyways... Yeah, I'm never dead. I just don't post, heh. |

There's a system like this on Slime Salad if you didn't find out about that. _________________ Happy RPG Makin |

It's been three years since this was posted, and the person to whom you're replying has not visited the site in most of that time. _________________

Well, since the old thread's been revived anyways, may as well give an update... The battle system that has been planned to use the Castle Points and Castle Levels, and trophies and stuff, is actually done. Well, the technical part of it anyways. It just needs to get implemented into the new site layout that IM's been working on, which is close to being done.
I let people try out the alpha version of it all the time, if they happen to be on IRC and are interested in giving it a shot. Right now it's not very pretty to look at (Like I said, it's not implemented into the new site layout yet), so I'm a little hesitant to post screen shots and stuff of how the system works, but if people are curious about it, I'll be happy to post info on it in a new thread.
To Greenwado: With that said though, try to look at the date the last post in a thread. If it's older than a few months, there's probably not much point in replying to it. |
