EDIT3: Started on Jet-Star
This is Party Poison for a game I'm going to make based off of My Chemical Romance's "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys". This is Gerard Way's alter ego, Party Poison.
References: [Party Poison 1] [Party Poison 2] [Jet-Star 1] [Jet-Star 2]
Any critiques will help, as long as they're intelligent.

Not a bad looking sprite at all, but...

First, lol.
Second, I didn't ask to critique my music tastes.
Third, Danger Days is a lot less emo. Like...At least 85% less emo. More punk, though.
Fourth, you wouldn't have known it was by My Chemical Romance if you were to play the final version.
Fifth, yay, I can count!
Aaaanyway, it really looks okay? Anything I can improve on before going to the second frame? |

Comparing this sprite to your references-- especially the first one, I have to say you have done a good job.
Have you tackled his battle sprites yet? |

Not yet. I usually do the walkabout sprites before the battle sprites, though I guess I should probably do it the other way around. X)
Anyway, thanks. I'll start on the rest of the walkabouts.
EDIT: Party Poison's now animated! I have both up and down sprites, but I'm...not quite proud of how it turned out. :/ Suggestions? |

Yeah, creating progressively smaller versions of sprites/concepts can be helpful for figuring out how to best squeeze it into a tiny frame.
I think your sprite looks fine for the style you're using. I would try making the arms longer. It's pretty lollipop shaped. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

But because I reeeally (felt like I) couldn't do the body, I kinda took it from one of my older projects. Remember Exo? Didn't think so. x)
EDIT2: Jet-Star's up walkabout is done! |
