There is a website called rpgmaker.net which is dedicated to various rpg makers and games made with them. Putting OHRRPGCE on there would allow it more exposure and let other potential developers know about OHRRPGCE.

That sounds like a good idea, but I looked at their site, and I can't see any place to submit an Engine to their engines list. |

I just found out how to submit an engine:
Send an email to kenton007@hotmail.com or kenton_anderson@yahoo.com
This email should say that you want OHRRPGCE to be added and should include a detailed description of OHRRPGCE. It should also include a link to the main website and a link to the download page.
This is the only way to add an engine to RMN as only admins can add engines.
Good luck. |

it appears that you need to wait for your game to be "accepted" before you can upload the game itself. _________________ "The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one." - Willhelm Stekel

Looks like games on that site get plenty of eyeballs. And there some ex-OHR users in hiding there ;) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

RMN is actually pretty popular. I just know it because my favorite indie RPG of all times is hosted there: http://rpgmaker.net/games/272/ _________________ Snippy:

I have been posting a bunch of my completed games there, but since most of mine are heavily plotscripted, the OHRRPGCE's list is now heavily skewed towards non-rpg games.
I hope some other OHR users submit their games too (Especially fully-completed games!) |

Heheh, done. I posted up a Tech Demo and Dreadful Occupant, the only game technically to my name that I find fit for that website.
It already has three downloads! That's the second highest among the OHR crowd, currently, along with Spazztik's whooping 20 Downloads. |

...I really need to finish my project...
...well start the actual game bit, 2ish years of physical notes and designs, does not a true game make... I really need to do hotOHR this time around to get this thing going xD |

"Completed RPGs" and "OHRRPGCE" doesn't go along well.
Some games like Bloodlust and Spellshard and all the games from Orchard would stand a real chance against the RPG Maker competition, though! _________________ Snippy:

Heh, to be fair most of the games you mentioned there in themselves took ages to come out (and technically Bloodlust is a WIP still due to planned updates). Still gotta agree that Orchard's games are great by any standard.
That being said, prolonged development time and careful planning goes a very long way, and these games are evidence of this |

It doesn't really matter how long they take to be released. Getting a game completely finished is something to be proud of no matter how long it takes.
And it means so much more than having 1000 games that are all just demo versions that are no longer worked on.
If you aren't able to stick with a project for long, you simply need to plan much smaller. Instead of your epic "as good as Final Fantasy" game with 100 dungeons and 3 world maps, just plan a small RPG with 4 or 5 dungeons. And instead of planning an epic RPGish storyline, go for a more philosophical one. That helps a lot in making a game that is small but still good.
Though I shouldn't be the one to talk, as I never managed to finish an OHRRPGCE game myself (except for Fatal Maze, but that was really small planned). For me the reason why I never finish a game is very aware to me, though. In one half of the projects, the project simply died because my team members disappeared (Valkayree, GrandTrain) and in the projects I did alone, I simply quit because I really really hate to do graphics and I couldn't bother forcing myself to draw them any longer (even though I don't find myself lacking the talent).
In other votes, for me to finish an OHRRPGCE, I would need a pixel artist, who is completed devoted to me for some years. _________________ Snippy:
