Hello. I recently re-did all the text boxes in my game to Auto-Size after manually sizing them at first (to basically make it easier going forward to create new ones). I noticed that when you Auto-Size with either 4 or 6 lines (possibly both, I forget exactly now, sorry) there is no "optimal" position you can move the text box to where the bottom edge will be flush with the bottom of the screen. The two closest options have the box either a few pixels above or a few below the bottom of the screen.
Now, this may be intended, I don't know; maybe it's unusual to do text boxes like this (i.e. re-sizing them and then moving them to the bottom of the screen)? I do it because I have HUD stuff that I like to remain visible during the text boxes. I just wanted to mention it in case it wasn't expected behavior.
My "fix" is to change from Auto-Size for those specific text boxes where this happens and manually set the Shrink. You can always get it to work that way. |

Yeah, I think that right now, turning off auto-size is the only way to work around that issue.
The problem is that box position and box shrink are specified in increments of 4 pixels, but auto-size is based on the actual line-height of the text, which is 10 pixels.
Eventually, we might improve the text box format to allow pixel-perfect editing of position, and/or anchoring the box relative to the bottom edge instead of relative to the top. -- but I can't make any promises as to when that will happen. |
