|
|
Within the next two to three weeks, I'd like to work with some of the other artists around here on a joint project ~ specifically an OHR-themed calender. I've got two ideas in my head, but I can't do both (not immediately anyway).
The better of the two would consist of poster ideas for the 12 most memorable/popular/significant OHR games (plus WH of course). Specifically, say for the month of January would be Wingedmene, and a special poster/cover would be done revolving specifically around Wingedmene. Another month could be Arfenhouse, or Motherland, etc. Once that game has been decided for that month, one of the CP artists (whoever's involved around here and or has the interest to participate) will pick a game from the 12, and design a poster for it, which will then go into the calender.
If a certain game's creator does NOT want their game entered into this project, and would rather not have it featured in this project, then another game will be picked instead. There's dozens available to choose from, but we have to pick 12. Additionally, I'd like to get a large amount of support for this, and get the other artists here involved. If it's all right with the powers that be (CN, Aeth, IM, etc), we could potentially turn this into the first prize awarding Art contest, to see how the system we've set up works.
While I'm not currently working on it YET, I'd like to hear your opinions of what would be the best choices for this calender before I round up some artists and we start throwing together this project. Simply put, you decide what'll be in it, because we aim to please.
It was either this or the 'women of OHR' calender, but quite frankly there just aren't enough well recognised female characters floating around.

Sounds great, Fenrir. I'd love to draw a poster if someone else wants to CG it (I'm quite a novice at CGing)... |

Might I suggest games?
Wandering Hamster
Arfenhouse!!11!!1 3!!1!!
Ends of the Earth (1 or 2)
Montery Penguin
Memoria
FUMBX (where is white owl? did he die?)
FFH or Timestream Saga
I Made Dis
Ecopia: Shadow on Perrip
Powerstick Man
Time Flies
Endless Saga
Wingedmene
That game made by Rinku and Moogle1...erm...something Knight...argh! Knight of Ages?
Motherland
Personally I'd rather see more classic games...but most of those arists have left the OHR community and we'd have to go on fan art (or in-game cutscenes)
Oh, and sorry if I left your game out. This was off the top of my head without looking at the game list (or OP:OHR for that matter)
As for the all women calander, I'm sure Neke could fill that herself. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Nice idea. Admittedly, that's more incentive for me to release a mini-demo of Magisteral, although I'd rather wait for the full demo (~2 hours), as I don't think the player will get as much out of a mini-demo. _________________

Or would you prefer an 18 or 24 month calender instead? That way, we could have a wider selection. |

i'm all for it. wingedmene seems a popular choice, so i don't have to add "IF" to my sentances. might i suggest that winger may be better suited to december? as i have already made several scetches of winger for part three to establish what he's officially going to look like (part two character looks are already established) and one of them (i've already scanned it in to show to rinku, in case anyone doubts me, i'll post it) was winger as a 'christmas angel'...
yeah, we know he isn't an angel, but he looks like one. _________________ LJ.Art

Feel free to do so. I'm trying to get in contact with a certain blue feline to see if he wants in on this as well. Also somebody contact Mr. Paige and get his feedback on this. Oh and yes, PHC needs to be notified as well since Walthros would be considered a historic OHR game (because of its length). |

And because it's awesome.
I'd like to see a well drawn Bob Surlaw in the calendar, since you don't get to see that in the game. _________________ Locked

Ah, can it, Fenix! Face up to the fact that you did something right when you made that game! _________________

Endless saga was the first game I had seen where I was impressed by the hero graphics. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Man, too bad I don't have a demo out of Where Gods and Mortals Dance, then it might be calender-worthy... I think a picture of Caleb and Iris from the beginning of part two might be good for March...
Well, perhaps a picture of Jerusifa from Magnus XVII! The "god" of the shamrocks is very festive for March and St. Patrick's Day! That was a contest winner, wouldn't that count as historic? Only on an 18-24 month calender, though...
I don't know, I just want something of mine in there... |
