Spellshard has been my favorite OHRRPGCE game since 2004. It's gone from a game that evokes nostalgia for the eighties to being a game that evokes nostalgia for itself.
However, it's also a really hard and at times frustrating game. I've never gotten far enough for a character to get a class change.
I also see literally no reason to use a wizard over a sorceress, like ever? Nor to sacrifice the Thief and his pickpocketing ability for the bard (those stolen items are your main source of money and healing, after all!). Fighter vs ranger and Paladin vs Cleric feel like they're probably valid choices but I haven't experimented with the paladin or the ranger.
