I didn't get too far. But from what I played, the graphics were pretty good. And the worst part was that the fights were too hard for them being in the beginning of the game dude. I think you should edit them and just cut their HP by a 1/4 of what it is and it should be fine. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I played your game for abit, until I got killed by 4 orcs. So far I like the way you present the flashback thingie... but I gotta tell you, the battles are killing me! It takes forever to get through the battles.

How are you guys fighting the battles? I found in playtesting that, after you find the silver armor, casting barkskin will make the regular orcs essentially powerless (dealing only 1 damage per hit, assuming they haven't been powered up a bit by sewer rats). The red orcs are a bit tougher, but in those circumstances they still do under 100 damage per hit.
As far as killing stuff quickly, after you get the mage sword and equip it, you can waste pretty much anything with three or four flashes after you cast empower, or waste a whole group after casting empower with three or four explodes. Not good for conserving magic, but it does the trick for getting through tough battles like a bunch of orcs. You also find a whole bunch of magic-restoring potions shortly after that.
I was really trying to make it so that you couldn't get through the battles by brute force alone, but rather had to pick a strategy and use a combination of attacks and spells. Just curious as to how you guys were going about the fighting.
Also, thanks a lot for checking out my game! Don't give up on battling orcs just yet, from the sounds of it you were just shy of the save point. |

I normally just use barskin & explode combo. But even with that, it takes a while. I accidentally died during the group orc battle because I casted hellfire instead of the intended Explode spell... oh well.

If you're going to rely heavily on magic, you should have the mage sword equipped and cast infuse (I meant infuse, not empower in my previous post) before blasting them. The difference is huge. Haste is another good way to speed up the battle, especially if you're wearing the Icarus boots. |
