It's simple. Open the game in Custom, make sure that you are pointed at the main menu for safety, then rename working.tmp in the folder where custom.exe is to powerxe.rpgdir. Quit Custom (discard changes), and it should be so nice as to not even throw an error. Now put (backup) the original powerxe.rpg somewhere else, or you'll get 2 indistinguishable copies of the game in directory listings.
The download won't be any smaller. (Actually, if your archiver does not create "solid" zips, it would probably be bigger. Turn on this option if you use eg. 7-zip, Winrar, Winzip, it's an effective way to increase compression in general.)
However, the game will load immediately in Game instead of unlumping for ages, if there's no upgrading to be done. Loading time in Custom won't improve as the whole game is still copied when loading and saving.

As for the archive browser and custom, auto-generated downloads, while it's something I'd love to look into, it's definitely not going to make it into the initial release. |
I guess putting everything on the side tab would work, and makes the download easiest to get at. As long as there's plenty of room for a large number of downloads, with descriptions and everything else (I was thinking of a separate tab). Will downloads have also have histories (allowing you to download previous versions?) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

That is the HARD way.
Download http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/nightly/ohrrpgce-util.zip and unzip unlump.exe
Drag and drop powerxe.rpg onto unlump.exe and it will create powerxe.rpgdir in the same folder.
Move powerxe.rpg to some backup location. |

A separate Resources tab might be nice for displaying more information about each resource. Maybe I can allow the ability to tag one resource as the main download, which will always appear in the right side-bar, then display all other resources in a separate tab. I really feel there needs to be an easily accessible download available when the project page first loads.
Right now, all uploaded files, including screenshots, retain their history along with the description and title (been contemplating adding a Changes field which would allow you to designate changes without having to maintain the changelog in the description), and allow users to download/view all previous uploads. Download tracking will also take the revision number into consideration. I haven't, however, figured out how/where I want to display the revision history and other download statistics. A resources tab would certainly give me more than enough room to display these details.

Would you really want to move the .rpg file and not the rpgdir folder to a backup location, or will custom not bother relumping it if you run it through again? |

Sound good, IM.

Well... if that's hard, downloading a file is 'hard' (time consuming) too.

Unlumped RPG's stay unlumped when edited. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
