Actually, CN, that's exactly why I don't review my friends' games.
Hoshima I reviewed because it was my game, and I knew that some people were reviewing their own games, but the problem was was that Hoshima was under Sir Phoenix's profile, so the average grade went in. I talked to IM about it, and he just said don't worry.
But back on topic, I too believe it's not right to review a game because you like the creator.

Maybe I read your statement incorrectly, but it sounds like you said "I hate it when people review a friend's game. If that's the case, then why haven't you complained about my FFH and Query II reviews.  |

Why would you need to? I mean, most of the time my close friends who work on the OHR have me playtest, so my review would be useless to them...
You COULD review it for the good of the community, but the main reader of a review is the game creator so...

Very right Shadowii. That's why I like writing and reading reviews. Because it teaches you what you need to look for when making a game, and what not not to do. Reviews are very influencial. But the good thing about making games with a team is to get feedback and so your mistakes get caught that much quicker, and it's funner to make games as a team.

Why does everyone do only two i's in Shadowiii? Maybe they say 'aha! More than one...but I'm not willing to count them. Two!'
Easy way to remember is Shadow was from Final Fantasy III(iii)...except it was really FFVI...but I didn't know that...CRAPOLA

I read a few of your reviews, Red MaverickZero, and I don't mean to be mean or anything but they seemed a little...lacking. I'm not a mod nor a person who judges your reviews for submission but if my game was reviewed I'd like it done better. Erm, I'd be specific but I'm busy, plus it isn't really my business anyway...
And you are all right about reading/writing reviews; its a great way to get tips. You'll have to study this game down to its bare bones to review it effecively; so you're guaranteed to learn something. The only better approach I think is to actually unlump the file and read the plotscripting code. But that's a bit over the top...(I do it...argh.  )

Ha ha, I remember getting a cookie for being the only person to type in all three i's for Shadowiii. Actually, I went back and looked so that I would type it right on that occasion.
I wonder how many reviews are on the waiting list right now. I remember a post by one of the administrators, I think it was Chaos Nyte, saying that there were lots of reviews turned down for such minute reasons that the writer should be able to fix them up in no time, and they'd be up. But I guess there have been a good bit of reviews going up recently. |

The game, it's title, and it's creator drives you to cram it in the craphole of CP society! The fact that JSH says that Poodles is too cool is laughable!
