Does poison "attack" in increments of time (seconds or ticks) or after the poisoned enemy/hero attacks? I'm pretty sure it's the latter, but if it is time based, how often does a target take poison damage when they're poisoned?
Same goes for regen. Is it time based? Because that seems to be the logical way for it to work but if poison isn't...
Needless to say, I'm confused. Little help? _________________ My name is...

No. I believe you can be standing completely still and the poison (regen) will still effect you or the whoever is poisoned. Yep. Time based by ticks... More details in a bit, unless Aeth comes in here. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

What I know about poision on the OHR, which I used as an advantage in Halloween Quest 1. The more you use it on one enemy, the more it racks up. For instance, poision delt 20 damage when the foe's turn arrived. If you use the poision move again, and it does 20 again, the foe will recieve 40 damage instead of 20. It's a huge advantage if you can make it part of your strategy. But poisioning of the foe occurs once per turn of the poisioned characters turn. Even on heros.
As for regen, I haven't messed with it really. _________________ ---------------Projects----

If you use the "reset target stat to maximum" for the poison attack, will it stop the poison damage from stacking? _________________ My name is...

In theory, no. Since this is used for setting a stat back to its maximum when you change it. Also, the only reason that Poison stacks is because it makes secondary registries for harming enemies. |

Is there any way to prevent that?
And how do you make an item that cures poison? Do you set the poison registry to 0% of max? _________________ My name is...

The damage you deal to the opponent determines it all. Like I said before, say you based the posion stat off of strength. Then it would make the poision damage the same as a normal attack would so to speak. It's real simple really. The same works for Magic stats and everything. If you want a precise damage set it to damage stat (or w/e) to 100. And then the other thing to Pure Damage. Then if you don't change anything it will do exactly 100 damage. If you want lower, make the Bonus Damage=-30% for a 70 power, or if you want higher take away the negative sign and it should be 130. It's real simple. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Yeah, I understand that already, but what I'm asking is:
1) How do you prevent multiple poison attacks from stacking?
2) How do you cure poison? Set "poison register" to 0% of max/current? _________________ My name is...

To keep multiple poisons from stacking, you could make an extra attack that sets the poison register to 100% of maximum, then chains to the actual poison attack. Setting the poison registry to 100% of max cures poison, because the way poison works is damage done to the poison register is repeated as HP damage to the target every whatever amount of time it is. Thus, setting the register to its max would make 0 damage be dealt to the target, allowing new damage to be done to the register without stacking. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

Shouldn't you have the extra attack set the poison registry to 0% to stop it from stacking up? _________________ My name is...

No, me is right. Heres how the poison and regen registers work: Normally, they are set to 1000. As you attack the poison register, this decreases down to a minimum of 0. The amount that the character is poisoned is 1000 - poison register. Otherwise, you would have to set the 'cure instead of harm' bitset on to poison someone, and attack them to undo the poison, which wouldn't make sense. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Oh, pfff, duh. Thanks.
Another question then:
Is the "stun registry" tick-based or second-based? In whatsnew.txt it says seconds, but in practice it doesn't seem to work this way. Does it even work at all? _________________ My name is...

It does. Hey, hack into Mr.Triangle's Shitty Adventure 5, all of those are done in it. And the newer version is unpassworded so you people can do stuff like that. Anyways, a certain amount of ticks make up a second. While playtesting HQ2 I noticed just how many are in a second. And it's more than 50. Hehe. _________________ ---------------Projects----
