No, he is correct. Word Count gives me 7855 characters, which divided by 3 (the number of characters in the average LOL),
comes out to approximately 2618.33.
Obviously it is slightly thrown off by the fact that the LOLs share characters, but I believe this calculations is indeed correct.

WRONG. Since all the lols share letters, you're supposed to divide 7855 by 2. (i.e. you get a lol every time you advance 2 letters) The one extra letter comes from the L at the end.
