Note!

NOBODY DOWNLOAD OR RUN THAT
It has a virus. SOJ has been infected by the Unworld for a second time. You can scan it and see for yourself; this one destroys your computer, particularly when you near the end of the game. I've no idea why or how, but I think someone's specifically targeting that game.
I recommend that IM delete the file and that Fyrewulff change his server login password, and IM perhaps change his own server password, cause I can't see how this is happening without some form of hacking. _________________ Tower Defense Game |

It is also possible that the computer upon which Fyre's included builds of game.exe and custom.exe are compiled could be infected. |

That's exactly it. I am still trying to find the source, but it is only affecting .exe files. Due to the extremely low .exe count on CP proper (read: 0 files), this virus went unnoticed for a while. This infection actually occurred at the same time as the Jade executable corruption. A virus scan on the jade_installer.exe does not show corruption. Fyre pointed out the virus after Harlock attempted to use the Jade nightly. We have since reverted the .exe files and recreated virus free version of the nightly .zip
I'm monitoring the folder closely to see if is corrupted again. As I mentioned before, jade_installer.exe is still virus free (as of January 9th), and am assuming that if there would be re-infection, it would have happened by now. In any case, I am doing another full virus scan on CP to try and identify any other infected files. This entire experience has been a crash course in Clam Antivirus. _________________

I had constant virus-scan on at the time I commited those files. It would suck if it just hadn't been ID'd yet.
Also it seems weird that people haven't been complaining about dying computers left and right.
I'm starting to believe though, that after the first incident nobody thought to go check the nightly, so it's been sitting like this for a while. It wasn't a very popular download from what I remember. |
