Iblis has now informed me that my crap has a special place in my journal. Having been gone from CP for the past 6 months, I haven't really been kept up with its improvements. But thanks for the reminder anyhow, Iblis.
Anyhow:

I'm sure you guys have seen at least one movie where some guy sacrifices himself to save someone else and immediately goes to heaven. Then some angel says "Sacrificing yourself for another person will always send you to heaven, no matter your previous sins" or something like that.
So theoretically, would taking a bullet for Hitler take you to heaven?

That should be heaven, not hell.
I was actually thinking about this earlier. If I were to die, saving the devil (say he had inhibited a human form), would I still go to heaven?
I never came to a conclusion.

What about the end of the movie "Constantine"?
He was so sure he was going to Hell, but he showed Satan who's the bitch. 
Then again, he didn't go to either heaven nor Hell at the end of that movie, because Satan... Oops. Can't spoil it for any who haven't seen it. <.<

I don't think just taking a bullet for Hitler is enough to send you to Heaven or Hell. It might play a factor, but your motivation would surely be called into question.
If you were the Chaplain in an Army unit, and you came across Hitler unarmed in a bunker, and several of the chaps suggested killing him rather than making him face trial, and you took a bullet to defend justice, you'd probably go to heaven, presuming you'd lead an otherwise good life.
If you were a Nazi, and took a bullet from a sniper to save Hitler so that the Furher could continue his "great work", most religions I know of would probably condemn you to hell, unless you'd lead a fantastically moral life, and/or God wasn't Jewish.
I don't really think just DYING for someone gets you into Heaven, especially when you consider all the other possible solutions to saving a person's life without dying. The Christians believe that God rewards the faithful, and entering a dangerous situation without regard for your own safety could qualify for that. |
