There are rumors that a chain letter virus has been circling cp's pm system. Once you open the pm, it will insert the "Love CP" virus into your computer. Contained in the message, it urges you to forward it to as many people as you can. Here's a clipping of the message, so you know what to look out for:
Howdy there, neighbor! With the recent election, and people accusing CP of being dead, let's have some unity! If you want to see this site become great, simply remind yourself and everyone else to, by adding the four magic letters to your signature!

I hope that everyone knows that this is false. I hate to see some person flee this site thinking, "OH NOEZ, IT'S TEH VIRUS! IT KILZ!" This is how those internet hoaxes start. It's very rare that a virus is going to enter your system through opening an email, much less a Private Message on a webforum.
Interestingly enough, this actually seems to be based on the Love Bug Virus, that lovely little worm that infected millions due to the fact that they wished to open this love letter from some person on their contact list. Maybe this post is a reminder, always check before you open an attachment. (And definitely be wary about those filename.ext.ext. Those can get dangerous (And damn these programs that get that and think that's it!))
