This Journal will Focus on the development of the Game "House Escape".
This game has gotten some bad reviews, and so I'd like to know what YOU think would make it better. Any suggestion is a valued suggestion.

I will list all the suggestions I get, here:
-Should NOT die in 1 hit.
-Needs more spooky
-"No one wants to see those pictures"
-Better sound effects, " The screaming was annoying."
-More graphics
-It should be timed or something to make it more challenging

I went to work on House Escape at a fevered pace. I think I've addressed all the issues I listed above. All that's left to do is make an ending and let my Girlfriend finish making the maps. I think it's going to be pretty good. Hopefully I can wow a few people with my sweet lighting effects.

Hmmm. I think house escape would have been more fun, graphically, if it was more like a house and less like a bunch of the same rooms. Like, add a little kitchen, and a living room, and give it two levels maybe?
Might be nice to have a lives system, so one hit won't kill, and you could find lives around the house... maybe randomize them a bit so sometimes they are there and sometimes they aren't, so the game can't be memorized.
And give it a timer to top it off, see how fast peeps can do it.
Also I want a pony! _________________ "I think civility flew out the window the second I found the lawnmower. With dignity and humanity splattered on the walls." |

Ok, Some of those ideas were already suggested by my girlfriend. ( great minds and what not ) And they were already implemented. The randomizing of the lives placement is a good idea and I may end up doing this. ( Though it's more like a life bar and less like lives but....
Well let me go ahead and explain how my new system for house escape works. Basically you have a flashlight in a dark house. It's batteries can die in one of two ways, ghost and ghouls can suck the power from them, or they can simply run out over time. You must find batteries to light your flashlight back up. If your flashlight dies, your are stuck forever in the house, and you die, becoming another of the the countless ghost in the house. ( well there's a set number of ghost but it's much higher then it used to be. ) |

You know whatd be cool (if you haven't already implimented this) having it save at the end of a game, and have it record the last known location of the last player to go into the house, and have a ghost at that x,y. just an idea, but I could imagine it would be fairly easy to do. |

That all sounds really cool. I'm looking forward to playing it now. _________________ "I think civility flew out the window the second I found the lawnmower. With dignity and humanity splattered on the walls." |

Shh...don't distract him from his Lemmings based slime game. He needs to finish that one. Now. That way he can make this one even better. And that way he can have a finished Lemmings based slime game.

Yay! Interest!
Thank You all for your interest. There's no need to worry, I was very distracted because of school and moving but I'm getting back on the saddle and will be working on Slimes. House Escape is basically done, The only thing left, is to fix the end scoring screen and to let Kelley finish adding stuff in, like sinks and toilets ( I think there's like 25 toilets so far... lol )
I'm really sorry about my absence from the finish your dang game contest, hopefully I can keep it's spirit alive by finishing my darn games.
@Neospade: Neat idea, but that would basically just make the game that much harder and I think it's already going to be pretty hard. |
