I've finally implemented some core mechanics of the game, including Weapon Masteries, Skill Advancement, Stat Gains, and Titles. Hoorah!
I've also just about finished the first arc of the game, which includes a single dungeon of moderate size.
After finding an appropriate place to pause the game and polishing it up a bit, I'll be ready to release a demo.
Uh, another one.
Also, this place is immensely helpful in learning to draw heads.
Highly recommended. |

Is it really going to be worth it to recreate the shopping experience within the OHRRPGCE?
Gee, I sure do hope so!
I've been planning for the longest time to have characters level up with the 'Stimulate old level-up bug' bitset.
This forces them to gain most of their stats from equipment alone.
As a result, players will only be noticing slight immediate power-ups from equipment upgrades but a better stat-progression as heroes level.
One of my issues is the OHRRPGCE's built-in shops' inability to display stats of equipment.
And because of how important equipment-selection is, I decided that these stats had to be shown.
I hope I can find a simple method to set every shop up like this. |

I may have subconsciously added Sludgehammer's persona
Hey! Shields aren't weapons (right?)
This system works for two shops right now, but it's really easy to add more.
Now I just need to:
* Have hero sprites show up and animate when you hover over appropriate gear (Easy Peasy).
* Figure out how to actually purchase gear (The killer thus far).

And with that, the system is complete!
There's a lot of stuff I have to add manually for each shop, but I think it's worth it! |

Just look at that!
All these ways Detelamane's pushing the OHR's potential, it's absolutely beautiful. I'd play it just to see the new gameplay features you've implemented. |

What graphics editor are you using to make those portraits (if any)?
Can you load the OHR default pallette into that program? _________________ Working on rain and cloud formation |

These were done in the free version of Graphics Gale.
And yep, you can load any 256-color palette into the program. |
