This movie looks really good. Hope it comes out in South Africa soon. I've seen few things about it in some anime magazines. _________________

I didn't really like it. My dislikes were mostly because Sin City did the same thing Pulp Fiction did. I don't really get into movies that are a small handful of stories that have absolutely no relevant connection to each other. In other words, I like movies that have a point to them.
Not only that, it was freaking disturbingly gorey. I never thought any movie could outdo Starship Troopers with gore content, but this movie took the whole damn cake.
I have to admit though, Marv was the only reason I consider that movie worth seeing. Total badass characters are the bomb. _________________

| You didn't like Sin City OR Pulp Fiction? Man, you need to get your head examined. And to call the connections irrelevant and say the movie has no point is ridiculous. |

Well, unlike Pulp Fiction, I did see some bit of theme to Sin City that compensates for the irrelevance to each of the stories. As for Pulp Fiction, if I might have missed the point to that movie, please by all means point it out to me. _________________

At the end of each story in Pulp Fiction, the characters were given a second chance. They'd gotten into some tough situations that would've resulted in some serious consequences as the stories went on, but by the end they had a clean slate to start again.
Sin City was about doing the right thing in a city where right didn't exist, no matter the consequences.
Not to mention both of them were outright aesthetic feasts!
And you need to stop using the word "irrelevance", 'cos you've gotta be using it in the wrong way to apply it to either of these movies. |

That reminds me a lot of "The Butterfly Effect", except the main character ended up sacrificing his own life so that the others could have a clean slate to start. _________________

Eggie, I don't know what the fuck movie you're talking about, but it obviously isn't Sin City.
And Khan, it wasn't so much that the tough situations no longer happened in Pulp Fiction so much as it all worked out and the people had another chance to keep going and try not to mess things up like that again. |

I liked Pulp Fiction better, though. |

Ahhhh, okay. Good. I'm glad there was a point to Pulp Fiction. I kinda figured I was just too boneheaded to get it.
However, even though they may have meant the theme you mentioned for Sin City, I kinda disagree that Mickey Rourke killing his way to vengeance for his one love (who loved him despite his intimidating appearance...although she was just a hooker) and Clive Owen trying to cover up for his girlfriend's reckless slaughter of a cop was doing the right thing. If anything, I'd say Bruce Willis was the only true noble character in that whole movie. Marv (Mickey Rourke) was a badass, though, and I have to admit he was what I liked most about that movie.
Not saying that it was poorly made, it just hit me the wrong way because I'm not used to that kind of approach to telling a thematic story. _________________

Revival supreme...
I just got the Sin City soundtrack... It is so amazing - The movie is being released here in South Africa next week... can't wait...
The guitar work is amazing in the soundtrack - Its one of those things that really stick out. Sin City must be voted best sound track at the next oscars... _________________
