As I was scrolling down the gamelist, I was suprised to find a lot of...

SPAM What?!?!

And not that great canned meat that tastes like shoes and comes in a can, I mean games with screenshots and no files that havn't been updated since the creation, games that HAVE been updated but updated by making a new gamelist entree ( Oookay...

), and games that say they have a file but really have NOTHING.

Here is my proposal.

I wrote up a list of all the games that I feel could be "safely" removed from the gamelist. I propose that if none of the authors of said games speak up and ask to keep their "reserved title spot" in the gamelist, the games are removed.

I know you want an archive, but this is rediculious. I see spam, spam and more spam.

On a side note, is it possible to have it so it uploades a date everytime the file is uploaded? Then we could have a standard rule: if a game has no file and isn't updated within six months, the slot is removed. This won't hurt the people who are actually MAKINg the game (they could just re-make the slot), and for the morons who make a slot then move to RPGMaker2k, we've cleaned up the gamelist.

Please take this seriously. I didn't just go downt he gamelist and grab the ones without a file. This is REALLY messing up the gamelist, as a HUGE portion of the list is now a bunch of "games" without files!

Thank goodness someone here finally had the gonads to say something. I always got ticked at fancy screenshots without file or active user. Although I wouldve just suggested that the spam files be marked "inactive" whenever an expire period lapsed...but that plan sounds better.

If Pepsi posts something up mention he wants it still up, we should keep it up.

If not, he can make the game spot again or just make the spot and upload the game when he gets around to releasing it.

A lot of those games are moved from the O:OHR list, and remember, we want to archive every game, even if they were ideas and not released (this is why my newbie game remains on the O:OHR list...naturally, I can't delete it, but I wouldn't have anyway). There are a couple that are blatantly spam or are mistakenly uploaded a second time in a second entry, but the ones that aren't should stay up.

Also, I noticed you added a bunch of games that haven't had demos released (Requiem, etc.), yet didn't list some other games that haven't had demos released and nothing more than a few sentences (naturally I'd notice my own game's sequels as not being on that list, but there are others, too). Why'd you only list a handful and not all if you're trying to make a semi-complete list?

Here is how I determined what to put on the list.

1. If I'd seen it for a while
2. If the game had been recently updated (ie I saw it on the new games list recently and remembered it)
3. If I knew the game was still being worked on (Magest.)

why not just make a whole different group where users could put games they were making and didnt have a download yet, with a pic and review of what its all about. This way it wouldn't fill up the original list with a bunch of duds and people could search the game list without getting a bunch of games they can't download.

OP:OHR had a filter system so that it would only show games that had a demo to download. That was very, very useful.

You can do the same thing by using the "Search" function at the top of the boards and sort the gamelist in various different ways
