Hey Everyone,

This is the friendly reminder that 6am August 8th has come and gone, and that means the Epic Marathon contest is over.

For those of you who haven't turned in an entry yet...which would be pretty much everyone, thanks, you saved me about $50, or however much your desired prize would have cost.

Well, as I said early on, a bad turnout would've meant no more Epic Marathons (because frankly I don't have the time to spend six months preparing for a contest that no one will take seriously anymore), and so far there have been zero entries, so I guess that means I'm through.

For those who would like to continue work on this series as a non-contest, the page will be up as long as Aethereal keeps it up. But as far as the contest goes, my hands are washed.

And that's it. Thanks to Me for providing the maps and to Aethereal for hosting the contest site. Sorry it ended in disaster, but I guess that's just the way it goes. Oh well, live and learn.

You might as well add me, I signed up. It got as far as the last marathon's entry (about 500 text boxes and some npcs). I just got way too caught up in the other contests...

No, I won't... I couldn't add you and Retrogamer for something like this. In fact, I'm taking Fenix and RM off, too.
It's just that...I really wanted to see this contest succeed...
...And now Pepsi might never come back...

Leroy was not at fault at all. He was banned from this site for a month and thought the contest ended earlier than it did.

If you wanted this contest to succeed so much, maybe you shouldn't have entered the other contests on the board and actually made an effort at creating a game for it. Don't blame others for failing to save a contest you didn't even enter.

Pepsi made a post earlier this month stating anyone was still able to join the contest and if he didn't have enough entries, he wouldn't continue next year.

You'll find Leroy's apology in said post and it seems only he and djfenix made any real attempt to save this contest with entries.

I'm sorry to see Pepsi spent so much time organizing a contest everyone was thoroughly excited about only to have 5 or 6 entrant who didn't finish a playable game.

Sorry about this. I've been on vacation for the past two weeks, so I missed two weeks of work on my contest entry. I'll try to send in something by August 14th, or the 21st at the latest.
