I was thinking about a rpg compiled solely of mini games, it probably wouldn't have much a story to it though, but it would still be fun wat do yous think? _________________ No Current Projects |

I think that there's been a few games that consisted of only mini-games...
I haven't searched the gamelist lately, but Mormon Mission comes to mind.
some others like Sheep rancher.
Mini-games are fun and all, but I'd like a story in the game

Sheep Rancher had no minigames in it. The puzzle was the game. That's like saying Tetris consists of minigames. _________________

Yeah, i was thinking of starting with one mini game, and once you finished that a new one was unlocked and so on. The only problem is to find a way to somehow connect them all together storywise. _________________ No Current Projects |

Have a quest that requires you to go to certain places. These places would have puzzles, ect., to beat them. You get what you need there (info on where to go next, or an item, whatever) and move on to the next part, which will be slightly harder than the last one.
Probably the easiest way to go. _________________ SACRE BLEU!

Using mini-games to help advance the story is the way I'd reccommend.
As in, you're telling the story, and, at certain points in the story, it would go to the mini-game.
A few games to look at for that style would be the previously mentioned MORMON MISSION and BY THE SEVENTH BOOK. Totally different stories and genres, but similar methods, it would seem.
Also, this is belongs in the Game Design forum. If a mod/admin would move it there, that would be appreciated. |

Try and tell the plot solely with the mini games. It allows players to reach their own conclusions about what is going on _________________
