I really need to know if there is a way to get .BAM files to work on Windows ME: Millenium edition. If there is a way you know, tell me please. _________________ Gyu, Doh! |

VDMS doesn't work on Windows ME. :
My suggestion would be to dump Windows ME and get 2000 or XP, ME is...really bad. It's the least stable of all versions of Windows, the slowest, and, well, blah. _________________

I've come up with a working solution to my problem. I have a laptop in my house, but it's not mine. So I email my game file to the laptop, download it and add the bam files onto it cause it uses XP and VDMS works on it. I guess this is going to be as good as it gets until I can update. _________________ Gyu, Doh! |

Yeah, you should get win2k, it rox, whereas ME blows. Just ask if one of your friends has it and can burn it (OS's cost an obscene amount of money). _________________ Locked

You can really burn it? If you install it what happens to all your data? Just curious. _________________ Gyu, Doh! |

Yeah, you can burn it quite easily.
Well, generally when you install a new OS you format your computer first, meaning you delete everything. Just put everything you need to keep on a disk or cd before you format. _________________ Locked

Interesting! Can you just burn it on an ordinary disk? Like the ones at kmart for 10 buck packs? _________________ Gyu, Doh! |

There is an "Upgrade" option that will simply upgrade the OS without formating the hard drive...
However, formatting is the recommended method...but upgrading from 98 to 2k does work
You might run into problems with programs no longer running...and you'll probably have to update a few hardware drivers...but it's worth a shot...if it fails, you re-format and move on... _________________

I don't have windows 98 anymore. My old computer had it, but that one was destroyed. Will an upgrade from ME to 2k work? _________________ Gyu, Doh! |

I don't know if you can use the windows upgrade tool to go from ME to 2k, but even if you can, you usually get a better result with a format. _________________ Locked

Yeah, I upgraded from 98 to 2k without formatting, and when I tried to run most of my installed programs, it said "Please run setup.exe" (or whatever the setup.exe equivalent was). Damn, I miss 98. _________________
