CP was offline for about 7 hours last night...at least here, and while I was online looking for any clues as to what was going on...I found THIS pile of crap:
http://www.netauthority.org/database.pl?action=view&id=534
Well I'm glad to see CP's back, and that my suspicions about the above website were substantiated, by following the link on that page that said
'internet acceptable use policy'...go ahead, click on it! Basically, it says that the afforementioned 'internet acceptable use policy' was too confusing, so they simplified it for us...you won't believe this crap. They wish they were internet authority...I probably shouldn't have posted on there...I think all the other posts were the same guy...but they pissed me off. _________________ 'I imagine that imagination is more important than knowledge, but I don't know.' |

Well, the downtime was due to my ISP's sudden, unscheduled maintainence. However, CP isn't within the areas described by either issue, but I am connected to a Verizon Hub and they're well known for not providing correct maintainence information...so yeah.
As for the link, netauthority.org is a satirical website created by sitosis.com. If you scroll through the database, you'll find some rather amusing comments and links. Some of them are legitimate links, however even those aren't accurately labeled. Don't take it too seriously. I'm pretty sure the comments started up when someone clicked the link and their browser pinged out. At least, the timestamp matches CP's downtime. It has been up there for at least a week. _________________

I hate it when I miss a joke...especially if it's a good one some of those links are hilarious. Castle Paradox will get tons of hits from that site.
I guess I really should have followed that link.
should I have posted this in paradox lounge? Mmm...probably. The 'general' may have thrown me off. _________________ 'I imagine that imagination is more important than knowledge, but I don't know.'

This is as fine a place as any. Might do better in Announcements though, so I'll move it. _________________

I thought the same thing you did when I first saw CP was getting hits from that site, but a quick check and it's registrant's website eased my worries (note the registrant's e-mail is ruidis@sitosis.com). I do find it quite amusing, though, especially the "Preview Too Offensive". _________________

Yeah, I couldn't figure that out...was it a screenshot from 'hentai quest' or something? Oh well. Hey! I edited a quote, and it still worked! It's the (very) little things, sometimes...
I never knew how to check a website's information like that...I'm not really what one might call 'internet-savvy'. You wouldn't have guessed that, would you? _________________ 'I imagine that imagination is more important than knowledge, but I don't know.' |

Doctor Johanson, PhD says~
"I demand you segregate the previous poster's from mine! The races must not mingle! Also, this site has far too many pictures of children of mixed races together! I demand they be replaced with BALANCED groups of children"
Sounds like a joke by a certain member we all know and love.

I know, I failed to see the irony there...but you can't blame a guy in a day and age where people openly blame tinky winky for 911, or whatever. It never ceases to amaze me. Plus, there's already a fairly well known faction of rightwing zealots who try to kill not only video games, but RPG's specifically, in a tradition that's been around since the early days of D&D. I wouldn't put something like this past them...and I guess I DIDn't. I'm a fan of sites like 'the onion' and 'landover babtist'...but they got me on this one...I mean Castle Paradox?...weird. If I had landed on the page where they denounced the Red Cross as a danger to children, I would have known better...I hope .
