It's 3 in the morning and I can't sleep and I want to work on my game, yet I'm not. So I decided to do a quick sketch of one of the scenes of the game.

I am undecided as to which looks better - the one with several shades, or the one with black and grey?

The unshaded one looks a little better now, because you shaded the top one kind of sloppily.

You should try and pick up drawing profile, and other angles. A lot of mistakes done in the past is trying to make a figure look dynamic even when the body is still facing directly back/forward. Nothing dynamic about this angle at all. In fact, in this context, this angle is totally awkward and unnatural.
