If you click on the image to zoom in a bit, you'll see it's a really nice silhouette of a girl with a blue hair tie. The colors in the outline could use a brightening, one or two shades at most. The hair tie is fine as is. _________________

Are you sure? All I see is a giant walrus. |

Correct, Mr. IM!
Although the first time I saw it, I thought it was a squid/walrus thing too, and I even know what it was supposed to be! _________________

Gah! Heh heh...apparently, it is a good deal brighter on my screen than on anyone else's. I'll brighten the image forthwith.
Unfortunately, the powers-that-power decided to shut off electricity to my apartment until Monday. Yay! |

On this computer the gamma is mucked up (very bad monitor) and all I can see is the sky and 3 pixels of blue in a line below it :P I could argue that the other screenshots are a bit dark too, but that would be unfair. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Okay! I have two more versions of that shot. The first has the hair simply brightened. The second gives the hair a sunset tint. Which looks best?

They're still not bright enough to see anything, but the first (directly previous to this post) looks better than the second one.
Now, I demand text! |

Well, I can see it a bit better, but it still looks like a walrus-monster to me. |

She's facing away from the camera. Does that help? |

I'm just now seeing the walrus, and I'm a fan of that interpretation.
Seriously though, I'll throw a vote for the first of the two, especially if this is supposed to be a sad/depressed kind of shot for the girl. They both look nice, though.
PS: When I complimented the background earlier, I was really complimenting the background of this shot, not the battle background. But that is pretty good too, I think. As if I know anything about art anyway. |

Not a whole lot. I just can't see the shape of the head. It doesn't seem to make sense. The hair doesn't seem to be falling right, and doesn't show me where the head is, how big/close it is and which way it is facing (Straight away from the camera? Away and to the left? Right? Looking up? Looking down?)
If I had the artistic talent, I'd be inclined to either fill in more detail in dark shades (for instance, if the hair was filled in with the grey from the top image, and then highlighted with the sun orange from the bottom), or maybe put the girl side on, with her head turned three-quarters away, so that some light falls on her neck and cheek. Like the cover of Nausicaa only with the head turned further away.
On the other hand, it might be fine in context, if the text tells me what I'm looking at. Hard to say. |

Simon, when looking at the image, the girl is facing the clouds on the left. The blue hair tie is the back of her head. Her blonde hair hangs down the left and right of her shoulders and her bangs have fallen slightly in front of her face. The 3 gray lines at the very bottom are supposed to be her back and arms and the tan sliver is the outline of her face. All yellow (or highlighted lines depending on the image you're looking at) is her hair.
Personally, I really like the 2nd image (where her hair is highlighted by the sunset). Mr. B., you might consider redrawing the girl's arms and shoulders. I absolutely love the three-quarter silhouette of her head, but the gray lines in her body are somewhat confusing in their placement. It's hard to say if it's a shoulder or an elbow or something else. A better outline of her body to compliment the nicely drawn head would hopefully make identifying the her as a girl much easier. _________________

Ah, I think I see it now. She is in 3/4 profile as I was suggesting above, so never mind about that. It seems obvious now I have identified the parts, but I just didn't identify the face as a face. |

Hey hey! After months and months (and months and months) of development and insufferable delay, we have finally completed Perilous Plunge lite!
http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=850
I am so happy! I also feel extremely stupid, because I didn't know how to actually upload a game. Isn't that sad?
As the game description says...
Perilous Plunge lite takes place in a simple Victorian culture in a country enjoying a period of peace after long years of war. The main character is a privileged young man who is dissatisfied with his life and his peers, but utterly frustrated with what he perceives to be an unwanted but irresistible destiny. A series of unexpected events grants him new motives, and he soon finds himself facing the challenge of the Perilous Plunge.
Enjoy! |
