Are you using "Dash In" attacker motion type? If so, this is a known bug:
'' . bug_title('30') . ''
(oops, the description for that bug was incomplete! Fixed it.)
If you are using any other attacker motion, let us know |

I have had this same problem and have never used the "Dash In" animation. |

This isn't necessarily related to your weapon problem, but another error is that you seem to be using SANDSEA as your background. This bug is easily corrected by drawing your own backdrops, which are pretty well guaranteed to be less ugly than SANDSEA. _________________

I think SANDSEA is probably ok for testing purposes. |

I'd make sure that's the item you're using. Go to the hero's equip screen and verify that he's equipped with the item you want and not a default item using a default attack. I would guess that that's what's happening. _________________

It still does it. I changed his default weapon to a simple punch, then threw together a quick plotscript to give the weapon to him and equip it. _________________ Placeholder until I can think of something. |

I've been having the exact same problems. The weapons are always floating a few inches from the dude's hand. |

Yes, this is driving me so insane I'm about to "Exorcize*" my computer in an extremely violent way. Someone tell me what's wrong! I'm using the stable version, AND the "strike" attack!!!

You are using the stable version? Does the problem happen the same way in the latest nightly build? |

This screenshot was taken as of a recent nightly build from a couple of days ago.
As you can see, it still misplaces weapons, and it's really bad here, where the weapon placement for the bow is mandatory.
And I know the bow-string doesn't slack like that after Moogle1 told me. That was fixed too.
Also note that there IS a weapon that works fine, and it is in item slot #1. |

I am puzzled. That weapon is so far of place that I think there is some other problem going on here. The problem I know about only misplaces the weapon a few pixels.
I have not seen anything like this with my own weapons in my own games.
Is your game downloadable from anywhere yet? I would like to try it out myself. |

Hmmmm..... wierdness... This will make a good test case.
Mind if I show this to Mike Caron? He wrote the weapon placement code, and might be able to solve it faster than me |
