You need to be using the nightlies for those new features you've heard about. Here's a list of all of the nightly versions:
You can use one from this list or this one if the list is too confusing. |

In the hasta la qb version, all you can use is BAM,well that and MIDI...
however if you got a (buggy but cool, and new) WIP version you could have support for much more formats of music,as well as sound effects...
of course the EXACT name of the supported formats,I dont know...MP3 I think... IT as well....hmmm....sorry,thats all the help I have...
oh yeah! voice acting,no can't be used (unless its in wav. MP3. or OGG)
edit:whoops! I replied a little to late...hehe... |

Sure thing.
Let's see now...
This looks like a pretty safe bet: [Click].
Or pretty much anything on the list that ends with _native has exceptional music capabilities. |

If by exceptional, you mean "they will currently import most sound files except MP3s," then yes. _________________

Not right now. Whether they will again in time for the next stable release is up in the air. If you have MP3s imported in your game already, they will continue to play, which says there's probably a hacky way to sneak them in still.
The problem with MP3s currently is that certain sampling rates will crash GAME. Eventually, they're going to make it so that you can import MP3s but they will immediately be converted to the ever-so-popular OGG format. _________________

I already wrote that feature, it has been in there since last week.
When you download a nightly WIP, you should also download http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/nightly/madplay+oggenc.zip and unzip it to the same folder where you unzipped your nightly. |

All music backends behave the same with regard to MP3 playing/importing. You need to download madplay+oggenc to import MP3s, because there is only going to be full support for OGGs from now on. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
