We've got this OHR logo (care of Squall, approved by James) but should the text be part of the logo or not?? You decide

1 month ago, I approached James and the authors of the top 5 downloaded games pitching the idea of an Official OHR shop. After some positive feedback and alot of planning, the shop has been set up.

Plenty of items are in the works, but Squall and I have a small question...what should we do about the logo? Squall came up with an awesome OHR Bob which James, Squall, and myself really enjoy. On the OHR Clock, Squall had placed Official Hamster Republic in a spiral around the OHR Bob. Hamster Republic was then removed from below Bob's feet. Squall and I felt that without the "Official" the clock looked too bland...but with "Hamster Republic" below, it looked overly crowded.

The OHR Bob is definitely the Official OHR Paraphenalia logo, but do we include the "Official" text as part of the logo? You decide.

Hmm... that's a kick-ass idea. I really like the logo, too. Feels very "Hamster"ish, and much like James' style.

And as for the clock, I think would look better without the logo. The main focus on the clock are the Bobs around it, not the logo. The logo hogs the spotlight, and makes the other Bobs less noticable. But, that's just my opinion Oookay...

Ditch the "Official." Since OHR already stands for Official Hamster Republic, it is redundant (Official Official Hamster Republic). Unless you mean it's really official, just the OHR Bob works great with me. It looks great (and so does the clock).
The extra "Official" also detracts from the overall theme of the Bob logo - it's the wrong font and just doesn't seem to fit.

In defense of IM's idea, I believe by "official" he means "Official OHR merchandise".

Other than that, glad you like the logo Big grin

Ahhh, I see. Then it makes sense, if wee look at OHR as no longer an acronym, but a word in itself.
Wow! How cool is that? OHR is now a noun, not an abbreviation!

Well, if you're going to take acronyms literally, then it would mean Official Official Hamster Republic, but I think in this case, "OHR" is used as shorthand for "OHRRPGCE". If OHRRPGCE was just a word that meant what it is, "a game maker" then the sentence would be "Official Game Maker Merchandise".

Makes sense to me...

I've got another question about how you'd like products.

Say I have a shirt right here:

Would you prefer it just like that, or a bigger logo or something else on the back?

There'd have to be something on the back.

I think you should go for baseball t-shirts as well. I'd do my best to buy one.

There will be baseball t-shirts.

But, I really don't know what would look good on the back. Perhaps "OHRRPGCE", "Official Hamster Republic", a bigger logo, a big picture of Bob, ...what? We really value/need/use your input, so please say whatever you can.

I'm willing to bet that the OHR is the only game engine so popular that there's merchandise for it.

And oh yeah, the T needs something on the back, maybe just some text. A famous quote maybe: "Spiffy!" and "hamsterrepublic.com" at the bottom is smaller letters.

Perhaps you could put something on the back that has to do with spam. maybe something like "Spam-tastic."

Err... or maybe something less weird, whatever. Huh?

Hmmm...

"Spiffily SPAMilicious!"

But then they'd have to go to Hormel for permission...

I like ChocoSoldier's idea. However, I'm thinking Spiffy on the front and a big OHR logo in the back.

Also, what would make an interesting suggestion is have a group shot of all characters from James' games, like Bob, James, Vlad, Plips, Sir Chef, Spitter, Guido, James, and the other Wandering Hamster characters!
