It's really not all that bad. You're already over the age of 18 and all it means is that a minor needs their parents to buy those games. It's just like back when you were 15 and you needed a parent to see an R rated movie. Growing up in Illinois, I didn't even realize that wasn't a standard law.

It's mostly the whole theory behind it strikes me the wrong way.

I basically think that someone told them that without any evidence and they ran with the idea. |

This is basically the same law tat has been in operation in Australia for a good few years. Basically, it restricst the sale of M-rated media to children under the age of 15, except when accompanied by an adult. Nobody really obeys this law, and I've yet to see it enforced. the fine is about $au800, roughly $us1000.
Seriously though. I hate these experts. Doing a bit of research into this myself a year or two ago I found that children find it easier to draw the line between reality and fantasy. |
