  Power Struggle-

Even the most clueless newbie has some vague idea that there are power levels in OHR. And it's true, to a point. If you do something worth while in community, people respect you, thus giving you more power. Not power to do things, or power over people, just the idea of power. Because though people will respect you, it's false power. This in itself isn't a bad thing. It keeps people working towards a goal, which, though unattainable, is always tantalizing close.

The problem with this is that some people, for whatever reason, believe that you can obtain true power over the community, and that there's only a certain of power to go around. This is silly. Containing the power of the OHR Community would be like trying to stop the world from turning. And yet, these idiots, (and that's what they are.) continue, claiming that others are taking power for themselves, using it to keep the community in check. Starting flame wars over it, attacking those who side with their "Enemies". Basically, acting like Newbies.

Now you're probably wondering, "How do I obtain power and respect?" it's very simple. Do what you do best. Me? I enjoy writing, so I do a lot of it. But I took it a step further, since storywriters for OHR games are a dime a dozen. I moved it into reviews, and then OHR Weekly. You can apply this to anything. Good at graphics? Write a tutorial on it. Music? Same. How about if your just some new guy making a shitty game? Do a game journal, with pictures as you progress, leading up the public release. I for one, would love to see the author's thoughts about his game as he goes.

So what was the point of this article? There wasn't one, I just felt like letting off some steam. Send your own articles in.
